Why Frisco trusts Superior Tile
Frisco is one of the fastest-growing cities in America, and new luxury homes in Starwood and Phillips Creek Ranch increasingly call for slab showers, 48×48 great-room floors and outdoor kitchens clad in porcelain. Builders here use us when the spec goes beyond what their production tile sub can handle.
Building conditions in Frisco
DFW is built on Blackland Prairie clay with plasticity indexes high enough to crack slabs and heave interior floors. Large format tile is less forgiving of movement than small tile, so we combine crack-isolation membranes, perimeter movement joints and strict flatness prep. On older homes with foundation repairs we confirm the slab has stabilized before setting tile.
Hot summers, hard freezes (as Winter Storm Uri proved) and hail mean exterior and garage tile must be frost-resistant porcelain with absorption under 0.5%. Indoors, big temperature swings near large glass walls call for properly spaced field movement joints.

Our 6-Step Large Format Tile Process in Frisco
Every project follows Tile Council of North America (TCNA) Handbook guidelines and ANSI A108.19 for gauged porcelain, and meets ASTM C627 service ratings appropriate to its location.
Step 01
On-Site Assessment
A senior installer visits, photographs the substrate, takes laser-level readings and discusses tile choice, layout and timing. No charge, no obligation.
Step 02
Written Installation Plan
Material selection, layout, substrate requirements and the installation schedule are reviewed together before work begins.
Step 03
Substrate Prep & Waterproofing
Grinding and self-leveling to TCNA flatness (1/8″ over 10 ft), uncoupling membrane, Kerdi-Band corners and bonded waterproofing in all wet areas.
Step 04
Tile Setting with Lippage Control
Large format tiles are back-buttered and set with Levtec™ clips; cuts are made on a wet saw for chip-free edges; layouts are dry-laid first to balance sightlines.
Step 05
Grout, Seal & 2-Year Warranty
Color-matched grout, penetrating sealer where required, on-site cleanup and a written 2-year workmanship guarantee handed to you in person.
Step 06
Final Walkthrough & 30-Day Check-In
We walk the finished installation with you, hand over a written care plan, and follow up at 30 days to inspect grout lines and resolve any concerns.
